I found this questionnaire on A Lover’s Musing. Haven’t filled out one of these in so long. Figured it might be fun. 🙂 How about you? Can you answer these 13 personal questions about yourself without lying?
How do you hope to change as a person in the future? I often procrastinate. More from fear of failure and success than anything else. In future, I’d like to have more self-discipline and courage.
What keeps you up at night? These days, it’s mostly bright lights with blue tones. It used to be stress/anxiety/depression. I spent a couple years focusing more on my physical health and wellness, which seems to help me cope better with the mental stuff.
What’s the most surprising self-realization you’ve had? I am capable of setting goals and working towards them. Prior to this, I always worried I was lazy, uncommitted and incapable.
What lie do you tell most often? That I only need “five more minutes” in bed.
What do you regret not doing? Rebelling more. I think trying to be too obedient and good as a child affected my self-confidence as a young adult. A person needs space to mess up in order to learn their own boundaries.
What do you most often look down on people for? Overwhelming themselves and others with negativity. I don’t mind cynicism with a sense of humour, but if you can’t even laugh about it, what good can you do?
What do you think people look down on you for the most? Being cold, perfectionistic, mindlessly positive or a show-off.
What gives your life meaning? Having fun.
What bridges do you not regret burning? People who don’t respect personal boundaries. I used to feel bad for severing ties until I realised I can’t afford to spend time on people like that anyway because I’m investing so much in loving, respectful people. 🙂
What are you most insecure about? My health. I’m not a hypochondriac, but probably could become one if I tried.
How do you get in the way of your own success? Acting when I’m nervous instead of waiting until I calm down.
What’s one thing you really wish you could go back and undo? The way I handled my writing when I was younger. I took a very unhealthy approach, and ended up stopping completely for over a decade. These days, I’m less neurotic about it, and balance heavy sessions with exercise, social contact and a better diet. 🙂
What are you afraid people see when they look at you? Someone who causes them heartache and angst. It bothers me less to be that person than it does to know someone is upset. We’re all trying to get by; why bother other people, you know? 🙂

Wonderful answers! I enjoyed reading them!
I was really neurotic about my writing as well, when I was younger. I’m working on the neurosis still 😒

Thank you! It’s strange, isn’t it? It’s ‘all in our heads’, yet it has such real life impact.
